For the second straight year, The NBA Finals will feature the defending champions, the Miami Heat and the Western Champs, San Antonio Spurs. For Miami, this is their fourth consecutive Finals appearance since signing LeBron James, and they are vying for their third consecutive world title. The top seeded Spurs are looking to avenge their crushing loss from last year, losing the final two games in Miami. San Antonio are trying to win their fifth title in franchise history, in the Tim Duncan era.
The series will once again air exclusively on ABC (produced by ESPN), with Mike Breen on the mic for his ninth Finals assignment. He will be joined by analysts Jeff Van Gundy (his eighth), the returning Mark Jackson, along with court side reporter Doris Burke. Former NBA referee, Steve Javie will also be contributing to the broadcast. A 30 minute edition of NBA Countdown will proceed each games with host Sage Steele, alongside analysts Jalen Rose, Doug Collins and Bill Simmons. ESPN Radio will have Kevin Calabro and Hubie Brown calling the game.
The NBA have slightly tweaked the Finals schedule this year. They have eliminated the 2-3-2 series format and now incorporating the consistent schedule format of splitting games five through seven. Also, while keeping the schedule consistenly on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, the league has schedule the potential game seven to Friday night, June 20th.

ESPN posted earlier this morning that Marc Stein will be the sideline reporter for ESPN Radio's broadcasts for all the Finals games for a second consecutive year.
