The quest for Lord Stanley Cup begins Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Kings take on the New York Rangers. The Kings, who knocked out the defending champions in Chicago, are back in the title game for the first since winning their first Cup in the franchise's history in 2012. The Rangers, who outlasted Pittsburgh and Montreal, are back in the finals for the first time since their historic victory in 1994.
NBC Universal will once again split coverage of the 2014 Stanley Cup Final on broadcast TV and cable. NBC will air the first two games from Los Angeles, with an earlier start time on Saturday for Game 2 following immediately after coverage of the Belmont Stakes. NBC Sports Network will take the next two games from Madison Square Garden, with the rest of series airing on broadcast TV, all on prime time. Mike 'Doc' Emrick will once again have the call for the majority of the series (Kenny Albert will call Game 1) along with Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McGuire reporting behind the glass. NHL Live will anchor each game hosted by Liam McHugh with analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick, while Dave Briggs and Anson Carter will be on a second set outside the home arena.
