The
final week of the NFL season will have an epic conclusion with two division
titles and three wild card spots on the line. FOX and CBS will once again
finish the season with simultaneous double headers and seven games in the late
hour. The NFC Central Division title game between the Packers and Bears will be
the main event for FOX this Sunday. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be joined by
Pam Oliver at Soldiers Field. That will be one of four late afternoon games on
FOX with playoff significance as the Cardinals, and Saints are still vying
playoff spots. Also, there will be a Gus Johnson sighting, as Gujo and Charles
Davis will call Lions at Vikings in the last game ever at the Metrodome.
The Bills and Patriots game in Foxborough was the lone flex to the late afternoon, with New England trying to secure the second spot in the AFC playoffs. The early slate includes games with AFC teams vying for the final playoff spot with a some needing lots of help. This includes the defending Super Bowl champs the Ravens, as well as the Steelers and Dolphins, while the Chargers host the Chiefs later in the afternoon.
The season concludes for the third straight year with the Dallas Cowboys flexed to the season finale of Sunday Night Football. NBC will have the game of the week as the Philadelphia Eagles are in Dallas in a battle for the NFC East Division title. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth will be in the booth for the elimination game as their warm up before Wild Card Saturday.
