News & Notes

CBS has announced a new lead broadcast team for the 2015 Final Four and NCAA Championship.  FOX Sports Bill Raftery will get his biggest assignment, along with Turner's Grant Hill, as co-analyst for the Tournament, as well as the Big Ten Tournament Semi-finals and Finals on CBS.  Jim Nantz will once again lead the broadcast team with Tracy Wolfson the court side reporter.  The announcement comes off the heels of Greg Anthony's arrest and subsequent suspension for CBS and Turner after his solicitation bust in Washington D.C.

The rest of the announcing pairs will be announced at a later date.

NFL Network has terminated Warren Sapp, immediately after his arrest on Monday, in Arizona after the Super Bowl.  Sapp was arrested for suspected assault and solicitation at 7 a.m. and subsequently booked and released.  NFL Network initially suspended the Hall of Fame Lineman, and quickly followed suit to fire him.

As Super Bowl Ratings go, this was an all-timer.  Sunday's Patriots-Seahwaks Super Bowl XLIX classic on NBC saw a record audience of 114.2 million viewers, supplanting last years FOX broadcast by two million.  Its 47.5 national rating  (with a 71 share) is the fourth largest in SB history (Super Bowl XVI on CBS still reigns with 49.1/73).  The rating is the eighth highest overall rating in broadcast television history.
