- As expected, Bart Scott will be newest analyst for CBS's The NFL Today. The former defensive star for Baltimore and the New York Jets, had an impressive debut last season on CBS Sports Network's TOPS. Scott had at least one appearance on The NFL Today last season, when some of its analysts were assigned to games. He will join Tony Gonzalez who was announced as the newest addition last week, along with holdovers Boomer Esiason, Bill Cowher and the show's host James Brown. As reported previously, the network has parted ways with Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe.
- After being announced to the incoming class of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Frank Thomas will moving to FOX Sports 1. The former Chicago White Sox slugger, who has worked the studio for Chicago White Sox coverage on Comcast, will move to Los Angeles to work on the fledging network. No plans announced, but it is expected he will work with Gabe Kapler and other FOX analysts on FOX Sports Live during the season.
- Three of the major sports leagues will collaborate on a new platform called '120 Sports'. Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association will provide content for 2 minute highlight package to be distributed using the MLB Advanced media infrastructure. Sports Illustrated, NASCAR and Campus Insider will also provide content for the new venture. 120 Sports will essentially provide a 2 minute highlight package of events/games to be reported. It is essentially an extended video highlight package where user's can pick and choose the games they would like to review. It is expected to launch in the spring.
