NCAA Tournament Broadcast Notes


Per Richard Deitsch's tweets from CBS & Turner's Media Luncheon, here's what we know about next week's NCAA Tournament:

  • Greg Gumbel, Greg Anthony Seth Davis & Doug Gottlieb host the Selection show on CBS Sunday at 6:30PM ET. Ernie Johnson Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Rex Chapman host a post selection show on truTV airing one hour later
  • Marv Albert, Steve Kerr & Craig Sager will work Tuesday's March 19th's first four games from Dayton on truTV. Wednesday March 20th assignment will be announced on Selection Sunday.
  • There will be two studio teams. One in New York hosted by Greg Gumbel or Ernie Johnson, with analysts Charles Barkley Greg Anthony and Steve Smith. The other will be in Atlanta with Matt Winer hosting with, Seth Davis and Steve Smith
  • Jim, Nantz, Clark Kellogg, Steve Kerr & Tracy Wolfson will once again call the Final Four on Saturday, April 6th and the National Championship Game Monday night, April 8th
This years assignment pairs are:

  1. Jim, Nantz, Clark Kellogg, & Tracy Wolfson (Regional Semis/Finals)
  2. Marv Albert, Steve Kerr & Craig Sager (Regional Semis/Finals)
  3. Verne Lundquist, Bill Raftery & Rachel Nichols (Regional Semis/Finals)
  4. Kevin Harlan, Len Elmore, Reggie Miller & Lewis Johnson (Regional Semis/Finals)
  5. Ian Eagle, Jim Spanarkel & Allie LaForce
  6. Brian Anderson, Dan Bonner & Marty Snider
  7. Tim Brando, Mike Gminski & Otis Livingston
  8. Spero Dedes, Doug Gottlieb & Jaime Maggio

Changes from last tournament include Turner's new hire Rachel Nichols taking over for the retired Lesley Visser. Doug Gottlieb coming from ESPN to CBS, replacing Bob Wenzel who is working for ESPN full time. And CBS Sports network's Allie LeForce replacing one timer Jenn Hedreth who has moved on to FOX Sports South.
