Hockey is back! The league returns with a loaded week of games on NBC properties and the league's network. NBC will start the season with weekend coverage starting Saturday. Regional coverage features the Stanley champions the Los Angeles Kings hosting the Chicago Blackhawks, while East regions will get the Pittsburgh Penguins playing their divisional instate rival the Philadelphia Flyers. Sunday will have a matinee at 12:30 as the Flyers go up to upstate New York to take on the Buffalo Sabres.
NBC Sports Network will have network and simulcast coverage Sunday through Wednesday, while NHL Network open with a local simulcast on Sunday with Penguins at Rangers from Madison Square Garden and select games Thursday through the weekend. Also, NHL's Center Ice will be available for free beginning Saturday through the rest of the month of January.
