Jim Duraham 1947-2012

Hall of fame Broadcaster and ESPN Radio NBA lead commentator Jim Durham passed away over the weekend.  Durham had as recently as Tuesday called ESPN Radio's coverage of Boston and Miami with his long time partner Dr. Jack Ramsey.  He has been with ESPN since 1992 working college basketball, before moving over to the radio side in 1996 to work NBA games.

Durham was the voice of the Chicago Bulls from 1973-1991 and owns one the game's most memorable calls: 'The Shot', Michael Jordan's series winner against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1989 NBA Playoffs.  Durham also was the voice of the Dallas Mavericks from 1993-2001.  He also was one of the first commentators to work ESPN Radio's MLB coverage, as he had a history calling Chicago White Sox and his home city team, the Houston Astros.

Durham received his highest honor in 2011 with the Basketball Hall of Fame's Curt Gowdy Media Award.

Durham was 65 and is survived by his wife, Helen, their three children and several grandchildren.
