Last night the NBA released its 2013-14 schedule and with it, their
broadcast partners ESPN and Turner Sports released its upcoming national
broadcasts. TNT will start the season with an opening night
doubleheader on Tuesday, October 29th as LeBron
James leads the defending World Champion Miami Heat against the Chicago
Bulls. That will be followed by the opening salvo for the Battle of
Los Angeles as the Chris Paul and the Clippers host the Kobe Bryant and
the Lakers
from the Staples Center. Two nights later on Halloween Night, TNT will be in its normal
Thursday night slot as the Bulls host Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks at the United Center. Then the Clippers will be back hosting Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. In addition, NBA TV will air 97 simulcasts throughout the regular season starting Wednesday night, October 30th as the new look Brooklyn Nets travel to Cleveland and the Lakers are in Golden State.
ESPN
will start Friday, November 1st with
the Heat taking the Nets and their newest additions old Celtic foes Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce That will be followed by the Western Conference Champion San Antonio Spurs, with
perennial Hall of Famer Tim Duncan, hosting the Lakers. Christmas day will be the season premiere of the NBA on ABC as part of five game teleacast
on both Disney sister networks. ABC will have Kevin Durant and the
Oklahoma City Thunder in Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks, followed by a Lebron-Kobe showdown in LA as the Heat take on the Lakers.
ESPN will have three games including a noon tip starting with the Bulls in
Brooklyn and a Christmas night doubleheader featuring Houston at San Antonio and the Clippers at Golden State.
