CBS Sports Radio has announced their new morning team. Dana Jacobsen, Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney will comprise of the new morning team from 6 AM to 9 AM. SportsbyBrooks tweeted the breaking news on November 16th. Jacobson returns to morning broadcast, since departing ESPN2's Cold Pizza. Barber moves from NBC after a disastrous transition from the grid iron to broadcast TV, where the lack of depth persona and personal issues transcended poorly with the audience. Tierney is a well regarded personality, worked on ESPN Radio, but was bumped from the network when the powers to be decided to jettison him for established name. He has since moved to San Francisco.
(That established name being Mike Lupica, who continues to prostitute himself as a faux Pete Hamil to gain a Pulitzer Prize at the New York Daily News. Incredible that this blowhard gets to pontificate cliched, clueless, self righteous garbage on television, print and radio. End of rant.)

ABC's coverage of Notre Dame's 22-13 win over USC provided the highest overnight rating of any game this season. The Irish's victory to complete a perfect 11-0 season saw an overnight rating of 10.3, soundly topping CBS's primetime coverage of Alabama and LSU on November 3rd (7.3). The executives at Bristol are expecting this to be a precursor of a block buster rating when the top ranked Fighting Irish play for the national title against the SEC Champions. The SEC title game will pit Georgia against Alabama, Saturday, December 1st at 4PM on CBS. The winner will play the Irish on Monday night January 7th, 2013 at the Orange Bowl on ESPN.
